New Look...
Now is the time to take a NEW LOOK at the things that you are surrounded
by in your home, because what we surround ourselves with reflects who we
really are. If you like what you see - good for you, if you think you
need some changes then I hope my article will help you with that.
Redesign/Redecorate - 'What is Your Home Personality':
While you may think you would like to redo your whole house don't
despair. I suggest tackling one room at a time by determining which one
is the priority room.
If, for example, you choose your living room then sit down with pen and
paper and ask yourself the following questions: What is not working for
me in this room? What do I really want to do in this room? What do I
love in this room? What would I like the room to look like?
Start a small file folder and label each category with furniture, window
treatments, casegoods (tables, bookcases), flooring, accessories,
lighting, art, miscellaneous (might just be colours that you love)
Collect pictures or take photos of what you love and put them in the
file folder. Then take each section and lay the pictures out. Pay
attention to what the 'common themes' are. You will start to see what
you like, who you are, get a sense of your decorating personality. You
might just find out something about yourself that you didn't appreciate
before.
Staging/Preparing Your Home For Selling - 'Investigate Open Houses'
If you are thinking about selling your house this year I strongly
suggest making a 'plan of attack' to decrease the stress, wasted time
and energy. Selling is a big job - please do not minimize how much
effort and time it will take you to prepare your house for selling.
To start the year off I suggest that you go around to as many Open
Houses as you can especially those in your area. Take a pen and paper
with you and make a list of 'Things You Liked' and "Things You Didn't
Like' when you toured the home. What were they? Are they things you can
do to your home?
Go around your home and start your list of what things you can or can't
do in your home to make it more appealing to more buyers.

Become a possibilitarian. No matter how dark things seem to be or

How to Select Art for Your Home
Selecting art for your home can be an exciting adventure and a source of
enjoyment for years to come. Keys to success are figuring out what kind
of art you like, how it will fit in with the rest of your interior
design plans, and how to exhibit the art to the best effect in your
home.
